The story is classic animation fare, believing in your self, making the impossible possible,
standing up for friends and dreaming big. The real hero though is the surreal bizzare and
outstanding sequences that literally explode into a riot of colors in 3D. Psychedelic neons of the
circus in the second half, dazzling fireworks , banana guns, enormously busted police woman,
wise cracking side kicks and rambunctious animal groupings make for a side splitting one
and half hours.
Madagascar's real strength is in its deceptive madness and insanity that hides behind it a
whole load of creative genius managing to bring alive moments, characters and utilize 3D with
amazing alacrity. The giraffe almost leaps out of the screen to kiss you in the face, while the
police woman's gun shots threaten to put you to slumber instead of the animals. The circus is
when the action really takes a magical turn as colors, animals and patterns merge to create a
mad mad illusion.
Carefree ridiculousness meets nuanced emotions and morals in a way that makes this the best
view this year on the big screen. This one mandates multiple viewings on the big screen, in
3D.
